Comprehensive plan of type, content and placement of signs and audit of existing conditions and requirements for implementation.

Identity Design

The Building or Precinct brand, the ‘Identity’. A graphic style for the brand and its values. It is usually a combination of graphic object, positioning statement, typographic style and colour scheme with a strategy for use on site and across media. This may involve primary and sub brands forming key identity components of the site.

Graphic and Industrial Design

  • Site and building wayfinding.

  • Fire, Exit and directional signage requirements.

  • Disabled code signage requirements.

  • Theming signage as required.

  • Electronic messaging

  • Coordination of the design with other design team disciplines.

  • Signage schedules, tender documents and construction documents.

Electronic Messaging Design

Brief development and functional scope

Vivid works in consultation with client and stakeholders to ascertain the types of content and features required of the information systems. We document which electronic signs perform what roles, the types of content they will carry and what the objectives are for each sign.

Content Strategy

The coordination of Wayfinding and operational information for best use scenario. (E.g. Interactive content served from website combining with printed sign information.)

Graphic Design

Design integration of casings and surrounding signs. Explorations of electronic sign models to be used, kiosks, broadcast locations, stations etc. The covers the design of the cowlings and any graphics applied to the cowlings designed to be complimentary to the architecture.

Interface Design

Visuals showing typical interface screen layouts for key sections showing the message in situ – on the monitor, in the cowling, in the surrounding graphics simulating the user experience.

System Technology Consultation

We work with stakeholders to evaluate systems.

Site Scanning

Detailed photographic and infrared data captured and compiled into an online 3D model for the whole team to reference. Measurable, navigable and distributable by a link.

A powerful asset for clash detection, view planning and context studies.

Site studies

360 Degree 5k video allows an astonishing amount of data to be captured quickly for total surround visual documentation of site conditions. We capture all angles and allow the viewer to choose the camera direction for remote collaboration via a simple link.

Compliance

Compliance with Australian standards such as BCA Specification D3.6 (Braille and Hearing Augmentation), AS 2342, D3.12 Glazing AS1428.1, AS 1319-1994 Safety signs for the occupational environment and Building Amendment (National Construction Code) Regulations 2014.

Style Guides

Strict styles are developed to form the basis of a signage manual. We investigate ways of complimenting any pre-existing standards so the signs suit the design intentions of the building and the organisation it serves.

HANdover

A wayfinding manual for handover. A document detailing the process, design intent and methodology for the sign programme for ongoing maintenance and integrity of the system.
